My name is Monique Carsouw and I’m a Master student of the Master International Leisure, Tourism & Events Management at NHL Stenden University in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands. For my Master Thesis I’m conducting a research about the influence of overtourism on the visitors’ level of satisfaction concerning the visitor experience, with a focus on the historic city centre of Bruges.
The goal of this research is to explore the impacts and effects that overcrowding has on the tourism experience and level of satisfaction of the tourists, in order to give a conclusion with recommendations on how to improve or guarantee a positive tourism experience.
In order to identify the effects of overcrowding, I have prepared a questionnaire about the satisfaction of your trip to Bruges. It will take about 5-10 minutes to complete this questionnaire.
Participation is completely voluntary and anonymous, and the answers will be kept confidential. The collected data will be analysed and will only be used for this research.
